Canterbury high country

The farmland is rich in this part of the country. This image was taken between Fairlie and Geraldine on the descent from from the high country surrounding lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo to the flat canterbury plains.
Hereford cattle are hardy and a popular choice in New Zealand (seen here grazing with sheep).
