Hidden aurora

Hidden aurora - Aurora borealis in Scotland
Long exposures have a tendency to bring out colours not easily visible to the naked eye. At night as light levels fall, the rods (responsible for detecting black and white) predominate over the cones (responsible for detecting and relaying colour to the brain). The aurora was visible to the eye but the red from the n
earby town only appeared in the final result.
